Squid

Maybe I could find this on the internet somewhere...but it's more fun this way. Anyone know the origin of the word squid in motorcycling?

I believe it originated back in the skateboarding/snowboarding days along with Free styling. Man that makes me feel old! It was a term that was used similar to today's motorcycling squid but this breed was an original so you gotta look at the core meaning. They usually lacked gear, but dressed the part (mo-hawk, converse shoes, etc) which includes some type of sponsored shirt, they had no skills what so ever and rarely met up for practice. One thing In particular with this breed was the whining, when ever they fell, loud yelping could be heard for miles from these creatures. So yeah I think that about sums it up.

Here's few from the old days:

What's a Potinator?
What's a Minutator?
What's a Yard sale?
