He could've gotten just a few months probation in oregon...

It does sounds an awfully lot like the "She is to pretty to go to jail" defence

Either Aussie jails are alot different than US jails or its just a total BS ruling. Throw him in jail so he know what those kids felt like

Hey Sepia, this is here in the good ole USA. I think that was Sidney, Nebraska- not Sydney, Australia.

I had to re-read it before noticing that as well...

I would've thought you'd have been more sympathetic to someone the same size as you

LOL, I didn't notice that. I read Sidney and instantly pinned AUS on it. My verdict still stands though, let him spend a few years as jail bait and then lets see if he still evny's Michael Jackson.

Looks like 5-1 & 1/2 to me, ruling should be reviewed.

"Judge Criticized for Granting Probation on Basis of Sex Offender's Short Stature"

http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=1148547937611

"A Nebraska judge's decision to sentence a man convicted of sexually assaulting a child to probation rather than jail time because she feared he was too short to survive in prison has stirred up a controversy.

The judge's sentence outraged advocates for child sexual abuse victims. But supporters of short people said it is about time someone recognized the challenges they face. "...

State Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha, a longtime critic of judges, said he was totally baffled by the sentence and urged the state attorney general's office to consider investigating whether it was too lenient.

"If shortness is an excuse and protection from going to prison, short people ought to rob banks and do everything else they would wind up going to prison for," Chambers said. "We're talking here about a crime committed against a child, and shortness is not a defense."

and then you need to go to the link to read the rest of the story.
