Teamspeak!

Hello All,

I didn't have to do this, but I think it will help get things rolling around here! I have added a 2nd Teamspeak server to my already existing one. For you that don't know, Teamspeak is a program that allows you to voice chat and text chat, and is very easy to operate.

The server includes the following chat channels:

Main Chat - 100
Redline Supersport Detroit - 30
Chat 1 - 20
Chat 2 - 20
Chat 3 - 20

The server is limited to 100 people, and the numbers above correspond to the max number of people per room. The Main Chat room will soak up the people that first log in, and then you will need to move yourself into another room by selecting (double click) one of the others. Please try to do this because having 100 people in 1 room will probably max the bandwidth and it will not work.

The Redline Supersport room is password protected for members only, and I will reveal the password to one of the "council" when I get a chance, maybe later tonight.

For now, this server is ONLY for people around this area. Yes you can invite people from other area's to log in, for instance if you plan on riding with someone in Ohio, but if the server is always maxed out then things will have to start changing. The plan is to use this for chatting with friends in the area and getting everyone able to chat in real-time for events, so have fun with it.

SERVER ADDRESS
71.154.50.22:8889

Type a nick name, the password Bike123, and leave the login blank. Once I catch you on the server, I can allow you to Register. This will create an account on the server which you can log into with. It will grant you more access, and will reserve the name you choose.

For those of you that need it, go to the website www.goteamspeak.com. Click the downloads link and download the CLIENT.

For those of you that don't know how to use it, once you install it you want to run the program. Click on the Connection menu and hit quick connect. Enter the server address that is stated above, your nick name and password "Bike123". Press connect and you should log onto the server. For now, you will be able to listen to people talking, and if you right click the room you are in you can send the chat a message in the bottom text field.

Lastly, I do not know how well this will work once we start getting people on here in large numbers, so if there are any problems please let me know. Email me at [email protected].

Alright I have to go, I will write more tonight while I am at work. If anyone is on and knows what they are doing, PLEASE help others out if they have issues. I won't be on much the next 3 days but I will pop in to see if anyone is on.

If you have any questions please post them!

TO SET VOICE SETTINGS

1. Open the Teamspeak program.
2. Click the Settings menu, and click Sound In/Out settings.
3. Under Voice Send Method, select the Push to talk bullet.
4. Hit the Set button, and then press the key you wish to hold when speaking.
5. You should see the key you pressed labeled above the Set key.
6. Press Close.
7. Look at the green circle next to your name, and hit the defined key. It should turn light green when you press it. When lit, your computer is recording you and people can hear you.

NOBODY CAN HEAR YOU WHEN YOUR LIGHT IS LIT?

There is a setting in windows that you should check.

1. Go to Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Volume Control
2. Click Options, then properties
3. Select the Recording Bullet
4. Make sure Microphone is checked in the bottom, and hit OK.
5. Take the Microphone slider and make sure it is all ofthe way up.
6. Now select Options again, and make sure Advanced Controls is checked.
7. Click the Advanced button below your microphone volume slider.
8. Make sure the Microphone Boost is checked.
9. If these do not fix the issue then make sure your microphone is plugged in and working correctly.

I've used TS before, it's more for gaming purposes, but I guess you can bypass messangers and just yell at everyone you know too.

It took me this long and 3 pc's to be able to log back in to post.... Does anybody else have the problem when you go to log in you just loop at the login screen?

I put shit up for people to chat in, realtime. Most importantly, many people can get together and figure something out quickly on TS.

I will leave it up, but if nobody wants to use it then I guess I will find others that want to?

Sounds like a problem with your cookie settings. Opera has been flaking out on me the last couple of days. I've had to resort to using MS Internet Explorer for myspace, stuntlife, Anandtech, cycleforums, and a few other sites that are having the same cookie problem. Opera says the problem is on my end
