I got my first parking ticket on the bike on Saturday

I was out in Royal Oak with a buddy from my unit and we were riding around all day after a funeral. We went back to Royal Oak in front of Charter One bank and got some ice cream. I came back to find a ticket on the back of my bike. I'm not saying I was in the right, but my bike was 3 inches past the sign that clearly says, "No Parking beyond this sign". The only reason it was parked so close was b/c some harley's were taking up all of the room parking their bike all cock-eyed.

I searched for the cop, who's been writing the tickets in Royal Oak for the last 12 years, and explained the situation. He just told me to goto court and have it dropped or reduced. Oh well...

edit: $30 ticket btw, and $60 if not paid within 10 days.

Ya, he was the biggen'! He was talking to the Royal Oak police when I approached him, and he was large and in charge with his uniform, so I just assumed....

And you're right...I do have the worst luck. The other parking ticket I got was a few years ago at the Farmington Hills Police station. I got it for parking in handicap of all places! ON TOP OF THAT, I got pulled over at 11 and Farmington (one mile west of the police station) and the cop that issued me the ticket asked if I was trying to blow the ticket off (not realizing it was on my windshield at 11pm) b/c I didn't take it off the window. In my defense, the lights were burned out/turned off outside the police station and the handicap lines were faded beyond recognition. I fought the ticket and days after I won my court session, the lights were all replaced and the handicap lines were repainted.

The cops in RO make fun of that dude too. I was talking to a few of them last year about the parking situation, they couldn't stop laughing while taking digs at him. Cops really don't care about the parking...Big Boy does though. Has to justify his salary.

Parking Tickets

Aren't the parking tickets only 5.00 in Royal Joke?

That's all I paid on the one I got last year on Thursday night.
