the salesman who sold her the bike should be shot along with the friend riding with her , let me see no exp, no licence, no helmet, doing 100 first time on a bike. a friend with her who could ride. i hope she heals and survives, now for all you new riders who think you can handle a r1 take note.

I completely agree, I also agree with the idea of not being able to purchase a street bike without an endorsement. That's nuts!!

Safety courses would save a good many squids from severe pain. I know it helped me ALOT. I wonder what was going through her head when she bought it and went for a ride... from the report it seems not much.

Let see

brand new liter superbike ... check
teenager ... check
no riding experience ... check
no gear and no helmet ... check
excessive speed ... check

I doubt that you can survive a 100mph crash with no gear. Mr. Darwin is knocking...

Does it look like an older R1? Like maybe a 2000 because of the side mounted exhaust? (not under the tail) Maybe she didn't get it from a dealership and then the Bill wouldn't apply to her anyway. What would stop a person (like her) from buying one out of the paper from a private owner?

Your right unless of course the bill says you can't register it without an endorsement.

Uh, isn't that R1 your first bike?.... Didn't you whack a vehicle that was turning in front of you?
Not trying to be a cock, just keeping it real... I hate when I see post such as "look at this jack-hole" yet, the person posting up comes off clean...
