Has anybody renewed their trailer registration this year?

I just got a notice that it's $75 to renew the plate. That seems outrageously high, but my dad said that it might be a one-time fee and i won't have to renew it again. Any truth to this or an explanation for the high cost of renewal?

You're going to get a new plate.

new plate that says perminate and one time fee for your ownership of trailer. I got mine this year. No stickers or renewal again. Now cars and bikes can follow suite we would be ok.

One time registration for the trailer.
<2500 Lbs is $75
2500 to 10,000 Lbs is $200 (or so)
over 10,000 Lbs is more expensive (over $300?)

The thing that sucks is that if you sell the trailer, you have to pay that fee again on your new trailer. ie, I've got a pop-up that I was paying about $25 a year to register. I need to keep it for 10 years now before upgrading to new trailer before the permanant tag pays itself off.

Like anything the gov't does, its just another way to take more money from you.
