Lawyer recommendations?

Got hit with two speeding tickets in the past week

First one was in Grosse Pointe Park. Was "wreckless driving" because I was passing cars, doing 20 over, and didn't have my drivers license on me. He wrote me for 5 over and fingerprinted me.

Second, was this morning on Jefferson in Detroit. Was doing 71 in a 35. Cop wrote me for 15 over.

I'm so f*d it's not even funny. Anyone got any connections?

you should get a good response to this one.
Not to be an azz but maybe take it easy a bit.
I have used a guy Dave Petrovski 586-574-9880
I also think OPP had a recomendation of a good one as well.

Let me get this straight, you got a ticket for reckless driving, and later the same week you got popped doing more than double the speed limit? Sorry for the bashing, but maybe a little common sense would save you from having to call a Lawyer.

No I didnt get a ticket for wreckless driving. The cop waived that part. Said he could have, but didn't.

Don't press your luck then. Seems to me you've already been given two gifts.

My stupid ass tried outrunning the state police last April. For some unknown reason, they let me ride back home. After talking with my attorney trying to reduce the ticket, the cop said he STILL regretted not arresting me on scene and said he should have nailed me with everything he could have (as if 4 different tickets wasn't enough). Moral of the story...if you got off this far, you may want to leave it be.

I am curious too

I got a ticket 2 weeks ago, for allegedly running a red light. I want to fight it, and I am not sure what to do. I scheduled an informal hearing already, but I thought I should at least talk to a lawyer. This is my first ticket in over 2 years, but I am coming off a bad spell of speeding tickets. I am -this- close to having good insurance rates again, and I cannot afford the 3 points for a BS redlight ticket.

If anyone knows someone good to talk to, please let me (and OP) know. I am in Ann Arbor, if that helps.

talk to the prosecutors office PRIOR to court. Tell them your story. See what happens.

Ah, well I only scheduled an informal hearing, which I believe is just the officer and a magistrate. So, I don't know if the prosecutor can do anything for me. I believe I can request an adjournment and a formal hearing when I go to my informal, but I don't know if I need a lawyer for that.

I did have people in the car who witnessed the yellowness of the light, but again, I don't know if that would help. Does it all boil down to the cops word against mine? Or does he have to provide evidence (ie video) of the incident?
