Mid-Ohio July 23 - 25

Here are the details, thanks to Kacey Kaye:

We have hotel reservations at two different hotels, the Amerihost for $149/night in Mansfield, OH which is 10 miles from the track and the Super 8 for $69/night in Ashland which is 30 miles from the track. I want all of us to stay at one hotel. My opinion is we take the less expensive hotel and ride in. But I am open to ideas.

Friday the 23rd will be a travel day. If you decide to get there early, the atmosphere is a little more relaxed; it's qualifying. You can get items signed by the racers and the pits are not as crowded. So Friday early is nice.

There is not a race schedule posted anywhere, so if anyone has one or can scrounge one up please post up. But last year the 600 race was Saturday morning and the big bikes raced on Sunday. Also on Sunday you can sign up to ride the track for the dealers ride.

Saturday there is a stunt show accross the street from Burger King in Mansfield.

As for tickets, you can buy them by the day or purchase a super ticket. With a superticket you can go everyday and you can get into the paddock area and into the grandstands. In the paddock area you can see the pits, racers, and the winners circle. This ticket is $60. I suggest to order it online, you'll have it when you get there and no worries. The website is Mid Ohio

So if you are going and want a room, PM Kacey Kaye or Myself for reservations.

Doc,

Keep us all posted on the details. I already have some plans made down there but maybe we can hook up once everyone gets there...dinner in Mansfield one night maybe? I think old_school may be down there as well. I always leave Sunday after all the races are over, maybe (I'll tag along on the way home if it works out!

The ride plan would depen on when we went. Personally, I cannot take off of work, so I would like to leave Friday evening. I figured we all could leave at 7pm that Friday for those who do not want to or cannot leave any earlier. It takes around 3 hours to get there. I could squeak out of work earlier if people want to leave at around 2 or 3. Post up some ideas.... The way down would be I-75 to I-80 then South to 4, 20, then on to 61. The address for the track is 7721 Lexington Steam Corners Road, Lexington, OH 44904.

As it becomes closer to the date, I will then have a better idea of how many people are able to go and when. Specifics will be posted then...

word.
