Inverted Forks ?

What are the benifits of having inverted forks as opposed to have the non-inverted kind?

I notice most all bikes are being produced with inverted forks. what the deal, are they better to have. my 04 cbr600rr has the regular type forks (dont know the name for these type) and the 05 came out with the inverted. should i feel cheated? am i missing out on something?

Just curious as to the difference between the two and if they all that much better. As an better than average rider, would it be worth the money to invest in some?

thanks for your input...

Yes feel cheated!
LOL
There is alot you can do with yours to make better as you get faster. You can always wait this season and some squid will dump his bike and parts like that will be available to retrofit to your bike. LOL

I wouldnt call the benefits substantial.

The theory goes like this. The inner tube is lighter, So it makes sence to put it on the unsprung side of the suspension.

The outer tube is stiffer, so it makes sence to put it closer to the steering head.
