How do you get into racing??

Just looking for a how to guide, I think I may finally be able to do it financially, going to use my r6 since I have the R1 now. Just want to learn from others experiences, how you saved cash, how you got into it, etc.?

Best bet. Go to a racing website WERA, CRMA, CCS and read through the various threads already started. Or find a track day near you adn swing by and just hang out. Many track day people also race and a lot are willing to help.

But basically, decide which racing org you want into, go to a race school to get a license, read the race manual, and show up.

The best bet, hang out/search at the racing websites.

That's exactly what I did, WERA appears to be the best best for me. Been trolling around the boards there, and reading up on the rulebook. Lookin forward to the school.

That is the best thing to do before you spend alot of money on racing. It costs alot to get the bike race ready(safety wire, engine covers, plastics, timer and/or reciever...... Plus entry fees, good leathers, helmet, gloves. WERA checks all of those things, CCS is not as bad. But track days are much cheaper and you dont need half of what you need done to the bike for a real event.
