Race Tires

How do tire prices run at the track?? Should you buy on-line and bring them to be changed or just get them at the track.

Also, in the Pilot Race line, all I can find is the H2 front but hear most people run an S2 compound up front?? Same thing or do most on-line discounters just not carry the soft front (and the Michelin site doesn't talk about different compounds either)?

Thanks

Repeal helmet laws, they only protect people we most likely don't need in the gene pool any way!

I hear you on the "support the guys who support racing ideal"!!

As long as the prices are not too far off what can be gotten on-line I agree 100%. Also, when you consider the cost of shipping etc $290 is about the best I could find anyway and obviously the service and selection are totally missing since NO ONE had the soft compounds and you sure aren't going to get any advice with the tires.

Thanks again.

PS. did a Streets of Willow track day and was turning 1:33's on the old tires that came with the bike. By the end of the day the tires were going off or I was getting a bit ballsy as the rear was stepping out pretty well. Had a blast.

also

1, the seat trick I thought of worked great (taking the padding off). Bike felt great with me so low on the saddle. Swapped out with a stock sv seat from another racer for one round and it felt horrible like I was way above the bike and totally out of touch with it. He agreed that the bike felt better with the "low-boy" seat too. Might want to try it on your new 03??

2, got some new .95 springs in so if you want to buy back your softer front springs cheap just let me know.

I bought a new set of 208GPAs at Fontana track day last weekend for 309.00 a set. Dunlop tells me that in a cpl months they will be producing ALL the race tires here in the USA and that the sets of tires will be going down to 250/260.00 a set. Sport tire services are at all the WSMC races and most all Fast Track days.
