AZ track days at Firebird

There's a track day on the Firebird East track on March 17th (which I'm attending). Also CCS racing does their races on the East track, with one race on the Main (dragstrip) track (which I'm attending).

My question, is the West track ever utilized for track days (or racing)? Or is it too much of a PITA to get it set up, since the East track is already setup for motorcycles. Just curious, from the track layout, it looks like it would be a fun track to ride.

Cool.

Yea, I was just curious. I was only getting my information from track maps and have never seen the track in person. It looked like a cool configuration though...

Thanks for the info...

I ran on the west track a few years ago and would never go back. (I broke my back that day).

Whoa...

...man, I hate to hear that. Do you feel like the accident and resulting injury was because of the track safety limitations. How's your back now?..?

I blame the accident on myself, but I blame the injury on the track safety (Concrete wall in the middle of the turn with only hay bales in front of it. The bike hit the hay bales and created a nice hole for me to slide through and hit the wall.).

Back is ok now, this was the second time I have broken it in the past 10 years. Wayne will tell you that I am a long time member of the walking wounded club.

I'm glad to hear your back is OK. Back injuries are some serious stuff.

Are going to be out at Firebird this weekend for CCS or the following weekend (3/17) for the track day?

patrick

PS- You have a fantasic site...
