If your looking for a used bike there are some great deals on 2004 BMW r 1150 RT. With the intro of the new R 1200 RT the used market took a big hit, a $18500 bike can be had in the Detroit area for $9000 and thats with under 20000 miles. And as a sports touring bike goes it did win sport touring bike of the year for 2004. Oh Ya and its one of my bikes that I find myself riding daily John

GREAT ALL AROUND RIDE

The 97 yamaha yzf1000r is a great all around bike. Can still find your way thru the twisties and also go on some long hauls with no problem

Don't forget the ZZR1200, I have the factory bags on mike. It is comfortable (very comfortable with a different seat!), gets good mileage, and has plenty of power. Corbin makes a seat with a backrest for 2-uppin', and you should be able to get a clean one reasonably priced.
I have an 03 with 8,500 on it when I bought it, it has gen-mar risers, and a double-bubble screen for $5,300.

How much wind protection do you want? Gen1 FZ1 01-05 are magnificent all rounders can be fittet to any purpose. Spring upgrade front and rear and its anybodies equal. Hardest is finding windshield suits you. Concours better two up but try an FZ.
