Cheapo radar detector amplifier

A problem with Radar Detectors is hearing them at speed. I put together a cheap solution for those who are interested. I plugged a radio shack suction cup microphone [ part # 277-108 - $9.99] into a radio shack mini amplified speaker [ part # 277-108 - $11.99]. I stuck the microphone on the detector and it works great - very loud. The speaker even has a earphone jack to run into your helmet.

You know, somebody mentioned that product on another thread. I bought it and am using it. Big improvement, and not hard to mount (like they tell you, it takes about 27 seconds).

It really gets your attention, so you can't possibly ignore your detector. I highly recommend it. I wired a miniature speaker to my Valentine 1, put it in the ear area of my helmet. Not loud enough, and I wear earplugs anyway, so any sound is muffled.
