Luggage for Rare Occasions

I'd like to have luggage for the 1 to 3 times a year we do 2-3 day trips (my wife will probably ride her luggage-free 500 Ninja). So, is Givi luggage still the way to go? Is the Wing Rack the way to go as well? Money is not really an issue (except that you can't spend it and have it). And last, does anyone know if the new VFR luggage will fit on an older VFR (with a Wing Rack)? Thanks, Larry

RKA

RKA makes very durable soft luggage if you want. Aerostitch also carries some very nice soft, waterproof DRY RIDER saddlebags. Check them out. Easier than permanently mounting brackets.

Givis are great, but they make the VFR a mile wide and the mounts look like crap with the bags off. I still have yet to see a better luggage system than the Ventura Bike Pack- occasional use or not.

Suck mean people!

For that amount of use [2-3x/yr] I'd definitely go with soft luggage. It holds more and costs far less, doesn't leave you with ugly frames on the bike when the bags are off and/or take an hour to mount the racks.

If you want the hard bags though I here Givi is the way to go, call'em to see what they have for your bike.

Repeal helmet laws, they only protect people we most likely don't need in the gene pool any way!

I've got the Givi Wingrack system, and 2 E360 bags, I usually leave one on as a trunk all the time, it's very handy to have something to lock my helmet and other junk in. As well it doubles as a back rest for passengers. Easily removeable luggage is something you'll wonder how you ever did without.
