need help, please

hey guys,
I just signed up so nice to know ya. ok I gots me some questions, I would like to get a bike to ride to work, and maybe ride around for fun, I have riden in the past when I was younger so thats not the problem. I need to know what bikes can I finance for around $500-2500, I'm 6'3'' and weigh 230lbs. ok heres where it gets a bit harder, I just pulled my credit report and its not bad but not perfect, my score right now is a 658, but will be raising soon cause of payments I've made and cards I closed just today. where do I start and will I just be adding inquires to my report, what I mean is do I have a real chance at getting financed, if I can do it with zero down that would be great to, thanks guys. oh and what kind of gas milage do these bikes normally get.

Describe to me the type of "fun" riding you plan on doing? Fun meaning you just love to ride at all kinds of speeds and conditions, or fun meaning you want a canyon carving repli-racer to take on short rides.

First bikes I think of in your price range are a late 90's Bandit 600 or a mid ninties ZX6E. Both would be good for your wifes comfort compared to full boat sport bikes.

658 is not too bad. Most finance company will prob ask u 4 down pmt. I'd say if u can find Credit card with low interest rate, use it. I am sure u can find a good sport touring bike in your price range.

damn dude

DAMN! 6'3" and 230lbs? Now that's a big boy. And you wanna carry your wife on there? As long as you can tune your suspension to be stiff enough to tolerate that kind of weight you're set. No one mentioned the YZF600, so check that pig out. But man, I dunno, I would seriously consider like a cruiser or sport tourer. I mean, sport bikes weren't designed w/ big people in mind. Think about it. How many 6'3" 230 lbs pro racers do you see around? "0" If I were as big as you, I wouldn't consider anything smaller than a VFR. Those smaller, cheaper bikes probably wont be very comfy for ya'. I am not trying to be a little pecker head, but I am just sharin the word.

Good Luck
