Question Is a 94-96 CBR 1000 a good bike.

I am a 35 yr old 6'2", 215 lbs man who lives in the south. I ride a older cruiser.( just love them classic UJM`s) recently got rid of a 99 Katana 750. It wasnt much faster then my XS100. I am now thinking at buying a good solid used sport tourer. I was thinking a ZX11 or mabye a CBR 1000 (94-96). I already have all the info I need on the ZX11. I am wondering about the CBR. I dont mind that its not the fastest bike around. I`m more concerned about relibility and power. From the net I hear good things. But from people i hear its a snoozer. Any info will help thanks.

I haven't riden a CBR 1000, just some F4's, but based on them and my friends 95 ZX-11....I would go with the ZX. He takes good care of it and has never had a problem with it.

I've ridden both and like the CBR better to be honest. On the zx the front wheel seems so far away and uncommunicative. The power on the CBR means it's definitely not a snooze, especially if you're not concerned with having the latest and greatest that only makes 10% more power and .5 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Better 'sport' in the CBR in my opinion. Wind protection and 'tour' side of the equasion are probably equal between the two. A LOT easier to get soft bags on the back of the CBR without the wide ass integral turn signals of the ZX too.

just my 0.02, go with the CBR unless you can find a much better deal on the ZX, in which case you'll probably have few regrets with the zx either.

Ain't it a bitch to decide between two great bikes

Repeal helmet laws, they only protect people we most likely don't need in the gene pool any way!

The Honda should have a better finish and it ain't no slouch. I saw one a couple of weeks ago with 54k on it and it still sounded sweet. There's nothing wrong with either bikes you're looking for, but I think you may find the ZX a bit more accomadating.
