Question

Ill go ride the twisties by myself sometimes if I can go and nobody else can, but I take it alot easier!

I just would hate to eat it up there and have nobody around, especially if you cant tell anyone who you are or anything about yourself...

I really prefer a small group (3-4 riders)

I ride alone at least 75% of the time. I think nothing of riding 500 miles in a day of all twisties. I never ride above 80% of my abilities and always carry a cell phone. The only problem is most of my riding is in areas with spoty cell phone coverage. I have complete confidence in myself and my abilities to deal with any problems. I have friends who have done ironbutt rides alone. That is pushing it a bit for me. I always stop when tired and make sure I am riding at my pace. sometimes I ride right at an 80% pace and sometimes I slow down to more like 50%.

By the way I ride about 15,000 miles a year.

Usually solo. No problems so far. Gets a little scary sometimes out there in the middle of nowhere all by yourself, and I mean out there, especially at night. But it is also kinda fun to rely entirely on yourself. Just be prepared. If I'm going to be riding for a few days I let people know, and I always carry ID and emergency info in my jacket just in case.

Enjoy your trip.

you either love it, or you hate it

Cool

95% of my riding is done solo.
I too carry a cell phone but as we all know the coverage isn't alway there.
It got a bit spooky a couple years ago whe I got caught up in a high desert thunder storm in northern Utah in the middle of nowheresville, and the bike sputtered a bit. All I could think was:"Oh God not here....please..........."
It's quite interesting to be riding in a storm so strong that the hail comes thru your helmet's brow vents!!!!!
All in all it was a very memorable trip considering I was in the saddle for 17 hours straight with only nature and gas stops!
