Intro + a question

Hey everyone! I'm a relatively new rider (got my first bike and started riding in June/July). I've got a GS500 which I'm having tons of fun with.
Since I'm having so much fun with that bike, I'm hoping that I'll be ready to upgrade around the end of summer. So I'm looking to some new gear right now--especially boots. I'm hoping to find a boot that'll give me at least a 1" lift, 2" if I'm lucky. I can tippy-toe my bike now, and I'm thinking of getting an R6 when I upgrade, and could use the extra height. I'm having a hard time finding any info. I was hoping that you ladies might have some advice!

Thanks!

I can't help with the search for height... I would pay good money to lose an inch or 2 of my height... but, I digress...

Make sure that even though you are looking for a lil height gain, don't sacrifice anything in the safety. Also, be very careful, since many boots that add height also make it harder to shift and use the controls. In addition, don't be willing to go with cheap materials just because it lets you gain a lil height. Those boots will be the only thing between your feet (and ankles) and some fast-moving asphalt.

Otherwise, I love my SMX Alpinestars boots... but they do not add any height whatsoever. Good luck in your search!

Thanks Saturn.
The biggest problem I'm having right now is being able to check out the boots! There aren't any local stores that really carry any riding gear for women. I tried on a pair of men's A* but they didn't fit well, and didn't offer any height. There are just so few women's boots out there, I was hoping to get some other opinions.
I'm going to try to talk to the one place in town that carries Sidi's and see what they can tell me. I don't want the most expensive boots out there, but I'm not going to get crappy ones, either. I remember reading a thread somewhere a while back from someone with the same problem, and she was told to get these ridiculous $500 boots. To me, that just seems like overkill.

The first pair of boots I had were thick, leather trekking boots that came up over my ankles. I got them at Eastern Mountain Sports (a hiking-type store) for $50. They lasted me a good 2 years before I started scraping toes pretty regularly and decided I needed something with a little more motorcycle-ability. My Alpinestars were $250 about 3 years ago.

I know it's nowhere near you, but the store that I like is called Iron Pony. They are online, and have a pretty extensive catalog. I always have driven over to Ohio to try things on in person, but I've heard that they are pretty good about letting people return things they bought online.
