Anyone else ever get so fed up...

that they just want to sell their bike and get it over with?

I went to a local hang out to meet up with my brother on the bikes and some immature beings of the male persuasion decided they needed to start with me because my bike isn't new and shiny and it doesn't look "cool". Well, I basically told them off and went on my somewhat-merry way.

Well, the problem is, as time went on (as I rode around a bit) I got more and more pissed. So I came home and posted up on a local site that I wanted to call them out on being a bunch of pansies... so my thread gets locked by a rider (of the female persuasion) who has always hated me b/c I don't take her crap and now I'm just fuming.

All the local riders are flaming imbeciles and my bike is a heap of crap anyway. I want to just sell to the first person to make an offer and be done with it all. I am so sick and tired of the stupid games people think they need to play.

Okay, so that was a huge rant and I really don't expect any responses, but if you are interested in buying my bike, please let me know b/c I am just done with it all.

So why do you ride? Being on two wheels is a religion of sorts (well to me any way). If the only reason you are pissed off is b/c a couple of guys didn't like your bike, then I think you're better off selling it.

I ride one of the most made fun of bikes that I know of. I can't go anywhere, be it forums or rides, without someone talking shit about my choice of bike. It's to the point where people wont even listen to my opinion, just b/c in their eyes it makes me less of a rider. I've heard it all. Some Squid telling me how slow my bike is or a rub telling me to get a real bike.

In short. I could care less what people think. I love to ride and I like my bike. If I spent all of my time fretting about what people think, well, I'm sure I wouldn't have time to do much of anything, let alone ride.

Try being a GIRL on top of all the shit about having a "shitty" bike.

I put up with it for 5 years... I'm done. There is only so much shit people can take before they get tired of it.

Riding used to be relaxing for me, but now I just cringe when I think about riding. It just makes me realize how far away from all my goals I am right now, and that's not the kind of reminder I need on a daily basis.

Besides, my license is up for renewal and not re-upping the Motorcycle class will save me almost $20.

Sounds like you made up your mind. I hope it all works out and you find what you're looking for.

if people give you shit about what you ride screw them its your ride and your enjoyment, the bike does not make the rider the person makes the rider. at 1 time i rode a old 1976 honda 550 four because that is all i could aford at that time but i rode it and enjoyed it and ignored any coments i got because i dont care what other people think about me or my bike. if the pic of the bike in your photo gallery is your ride it looks like a nice bike in good condition, hell it looks like it is in better shape then my nighthawk S (1985) that i still ride on occasion. dont give up yet go and enjoy a nice ride in the country and the next person that gives you shit about your ride tell them to go get f**ked.

If you like the bike, tell them it's a classic and go riding! Who cares what other people think. Besides you can't hear what anyone has to say while you're moving. If you don't like the bike, get rid of it and get something else.

A few ccs short of a full litre.

I never had problems with any riders, must be a out of state thing. Everyone I ride with, or have road with, is mellow, let them do what they want, wheelies, stunts, whatever, not like I have to do them to feel good about myself, thats just what floats their boat. Next time instead of "telling off" everyone, why don't you just try complimenting their bike, just because someone was an ass doesn't mean you have to stoop to their level and make everyone around you hate you. I am 100% sure all you did by getting pissed at them was make them think you are a bitch, and give them an extra laugh when you sped off.

sounds like a horrible crowd. I think everyone on two wheels deserves respect from other riders, even squids deserve some decency, although not too much. It really sounds like you've made up your mind, when I first started riding, (only a year ago) I used to try to convince others not to quit riding, since then, I've figured out that riding is not a life for most people, it's a lifestyle or hobby, and eventually people will not want to do it anymore for one reason or another. At least you're quitting because you don't want to do it anymore, and not because you got into some horrible accident due to riding. Anyway, good luck with that, maybe that two-wheel bug will bite you again later on, or maybe not. hope you feel better after ranting though

work hard and play hard... hell, if I'm killin' myself with work, I may as well kill myself havin' fun!!!

I think you ran into the small minority of people on motorcycles.

WTF is wrong with a Seca??? Not like it sticks out like a sore thumb, it's not a bad bike. Anyway, they were just f'n jackasses who base their self worth on their bike. Like the guy who lives at home with his parents, but spends 90% of his income on his car payment driving a new 'Vette or something(I grew up with that guy).

You gotta learn to deal with idiots in general, not just when you're on your bike.

Good luck either way.

Problem is, I personally hate my bike. I've spent hours (not to mention blood and sweat) trying to make it something I could call my own and each time it only turns out worse than when I started. I know I'll never be happy with any bike I get, and I know I'll never get any credit for what I can or cannot do.

As for "telling them off" it was more of a one-liner of bugger off cause you are not going to call me out.

For the last 4 years, I had finally found a "group" of people who would just let me ride and didn't care, but many of them got chips on their shoulders when the "club" idea went south. I hate riding alone because cagers do something stupid far more often when there is only my headlight instead of 2 or more.

I guess what it comes down to is that I've just outgrown that lifestyle of posing and partying and doing stupid stuff and not as many others have.
