Smile Bike Suggestions

I would also like some suggestions on what kind of bike to purchase. I'm 21 years old and 5'6". I like the R6, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Cool Hi Charlene!

Check the thread entitled "bike recommendations" (or something close to that) in this forum. It lists about every good beginner bike you could ever want, with a few added in extra!

(welcome to the club!)

Talking first bike

First of all, welcome to SBW. It's great here, but watch out for 748_Abuser. He's a jerk. (Love ya Paul)

Check out the thread "recommend a bike" in this forum. Now if it's your first bike you might want to wait on getting an R6. They are not designed for a beginning rider. A good one to start with is the Honda CBR600. New or slightly used they are good bikes. Another one is the Kawi500, but I'm not too hot on Kawis (sorry Robert/Will) Make sure before you settle on one bike you've checked 'em all out. Good luck and let us know your "progress"

HAVE FUN AND BE SAFE!!!

Keep in mind that the new F4i and the R6 are neck and neck in the performance category right now so neither one of them are what I would consider a good beginning bikes.

Kawi 500 is a good choice or the SV650 or 650S.

BTW, welcome to SBW.

John

Try the GS500E, handles great and is about the same as the EX500.

Definitely the GSXR-1000. It would be a really good learning experience.

It depends on your priorities. If you want a learning experience with riding, I recommend the GSXR-1000. If it's the mechanical learning experience you want, get the Buell. Either way, you can't go wrong.
