I'm thinking about getting a new SUV, I'm looking into the Xterras. Does anybody here have one? I checked them out and saw that the 2005's have a bunch of new features and more horsepower. Let me know what you think if you do have one, thanks!

I've been asking around and I have some buddies who have Xterras and they love them. I really just like them because there big enough to hold all my gear and still have power.

My sister has an 02 right now. She likes it, I enjoy driving it. They are good cars.

I used to work at a Nissan dealership, and went through all of the 05 model training (including the XTerra).

The 05's are cool. More power, more room, more features, good value, really.

I can't help but wonder if 06 will bring the VQ35, or some variation, under the hood. That's what that truck needs more than anything, is the VQ35.

Would I suggest getting one? Well, it's better, IMO, than any other domestic SUV in the class. I do like the 4-runner as well, but I can't knock Nissan. They are well designed, and fun to drive.

Go to a dealership, find a cool salesperson (younger guys with loose pants, and rarely wearing a jacket are the best option) and they will usually let you flog the car to get a feel for it. I know I did when I sold them.

I don't think you'll be disappointed in it.

The 05 Pathfinder is really really nice too, if budget allows. I got to drive them somewhat extensively, and they were very comfortable. You have to drive with the doors locked, though, or the gas door will fly open around turns. 06 should change that, lol.
