I would say top speed of around 132mph (faster if u have a tail wind) and a 1/4 mile of 13.7 - 14.0 depending on rider ability. If you trick the bike out you or change the gearing (sprockets) you may pull off a 12.9 quarter, but that would be about it.

My old 91 600R could do a 12.58 quarter, and that was with stage 3 and sprockets, so a 500R would be hard pressed to perform equally.

Why dont you take it to the local track and let us know what you do! Its a blast and always alot of fun!

Yes. They are the same special helmets you should be using on the road.

If I recall correctly, one of members (Richard P., I think) once said that some drag strips do require some sort of special helmet for racing. The best thing to do is just call the place to get the scoop.

Here, I dug up the aforementioned comments:

Hope that helps!

Dude, I tried to find a video clip of a guy on an ex500(ninja500R) smoking a cbrf2 at the dragstrip... If you search the internet on peoples personal pages , you'll find it..

Keywords : ex500, ex 500 , my ex500 , ninja500 , ninja 500 ....

Most strips won't let cars and bikes race each other. That's a VERY good rule. Don't do it. When something happens to the car, or you, it can get real ugly.
