The only negative thing I've heard about either bike was that the R6's fuel injection is a bit twitchy, but I've found that to sometimes be a personal feeling more than an actual mechanical fact.

Have you considered the Kawi 636?

I've had a chance to ride the new 06 R6, I really think they're all superb bikes. But, the R6 will be the 600 to have next year.

Are you talkin 06 models? The 06' R6 is a track bike and you would not like it for street use. I have a few friends who race and they said the bike sucked during the brake in period. You have to rev it way to high to get it off the line. They even said it would stall if you didn't rev it enough off the line. that would piss me off! Now on the track your talkin about a different story. It's the sh*t! I don't know anyone who ever rode the Kaw RR but a real good friend has a 636 and says it's an incredible ride. His brother went on a ride with several friends with different bikes and they all switched bikes. According to my friend the 636 is great but still did not handle near as well as the 05' CBR 600rr he rode as well.
If your riding on the street, buy the 636. If your looking for a track bike then go with the R6!
