Unwanted!

I went today to trade in my '95 Daytona on a new one. Problem is, they had no use for my bike! I'm sure they would have given me a token amount, but nothing even close to even a wholesale value. Who would have thunk it?

I have the cash to buy the new bike, but I have nowhere to put it until I move my old one. Any ideas on quickly moving it? Of course, it's the wrong time of year, etc., etc. I suppose I can put a cut-rate ad in my local paper and hope.

I'll be more then happy to take it off your hands if you just need to get rid of it to make room for the new one

Don't tempt me. At this point, I'd let it go for $3K. The flip side of buying a bike late in the year to take advantage of good deals is that you may end up not being able to sell the one you have.

I know what you mean, and if I had 3k and a way to get it from seattle all the way to florida I would. good luck with your venture, maybe its worth it to buy the new bike, eat the 3k and store the old bike till next year then sell it.

Yeah...What he said.

You already said that you have the money for the new one. Just get it and take your time selling the old Triumph.

Consignment

Any dealers or independents in your area sell on consignment? That way they would be storing your bike for you until the right buyer comes along.

Put it on eBay...I guarantee someone will give you at least $3K for it.

Ramjet -

You bring home a new bike today and you're not posting pics? What's up with that?

Let's see that silver beauty.

I'll have to take some pix tomorrow.

I had the bike delivered, as I had to drive my truck to the dealer to pay for it, and they offered free delivery. OK, cool. They show up at the house at four. I go out, see my silver Daytona waiting for me at the curb, and, without thinking, close the door. I'm locked out! My house keys, my gear, my cell (which I could have used to call my wife), something warm to wear in the chill...all in the house. And our house is reasonably hard to get into, so breaking in is out. What a dumbass!

I had time to read the rider safety booklet and the owner's manual in their entirety before my wife got home from work, and by then it was too dark to take a photo...and I had to start in on my good behavior to try and get out of trouble, so no riding tonight.

So the new bike is sitting in the garage with 3 (!) miles on it, and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Ah, well. At least I have it.
