Buell Blast and license plates

hello everyone,

I've got a friend who just recently purchased a Buell Blast. The weather finally got decent around where I live, so I asked her if she was going out riding. She said that she couldn't because she didn't have her plate on her bike yet. I figured it was a 5 minute job to put it on, but she says there's no where to mount the plate and was contemplating drilling holes into the rear faring(? - I'm new to bikes myself, so I'm not sure that to call it, the tail section!). I told her to hold off on that and call her dealer, that seemed really odd to me that there was no place to mount a license plate, and no license plate bracket or anything like that to mount a plate. Is there supposed to be one or what?

Thanks!
-Jason

Indeed, there is no bracket upon which to mount a license plate. I cannot fathom what they were thinking. We had one in the rider ed program last year and no need for a plate, but I observed the same thing. It has a flat spot embossed into the rear fender. I guess you'll just have to drill holes. The ones with plates have that I've seen, had this done.
