Out of the Suzuki's I would go with the 750 just because I don't think I could handle the 1K. That and the 750 seems like more fun. Out of the Kawi's I would definitely pick the ZX-9. Where can you find more of a muscle bike for 900 cc's...no where.

I like the new R1 too but it sort of falls into the same category as the GXR1K. I actually would rather have the R6 more.

Over all, if I was going to get a 2002 model bike I would go with the GSXR750. The 954 is only going to be around a year or two before the CBR1000 comes out so I wouldn't get that one. The 750 has been a kick butt bike for a very long time. Too bad it doesn't come in red this year.

I wouldn't buy any of them! Get the Blackbird, because it's big, fast, stable, reliable, and comfortable on long rides. Go Big Red!

It turned out the kangaroo was right.

mmmmmmmmmmm.......sport bikes

Man, I just grabbed the 2002 Honda 919. It's a hooligan bike for sure, but I just wanted something different. But if I was to back track and go through the buying process again, dude, I would get a zx-12R or some other BIG DOG. I mean think about it: Virtuously effortless acceleration, the ability to long distance sport tour without feeling much wind fatigue, instant recognition...Damn. These are definitly bikes you wont get bored of riding.
But if I broke it down by class, it would go a little something like this:

1) 600: YZF-R6 INSAAAAAAAAAANE for a 600
2) 750: GSX-R 750 (but if kawi would play a little catch-up and do some updating, I would be all over that)
3) 900: ZX-9R Aswesome looks
4) Open Liter Bikes: RC-51 Nice jap. twin w/ killer style
5) Big Dawgs: ZX-12R Light-weight 'Busa killer (in the turns)

I can vouch for that, I just bought a 2002 Dos Equis (Mostly because my fiancee just gaffled my 2000 F4. I ride it 120+ miles a day as a commuter to work, and tear it up on the back-roads on the weekends. This bike is great for both! Ride Red!
