Wink ZX-9R faster than 954.....

Who else saw this in the April Cycle World....????

Is says the ZX-9R is faster on top end & 1/4 mile than
the 954........even though it gives up ~8hp & weighs 34#s
more.
It must be true if its in print, right... !!!

Talking

I didn't see that but it doesn't suprise me. Team green has always had strong bikes and quick 1/4 mile times.....just think what they could do with more hp and less weight

Yes it's fast and no, you can't ride it!

I would believe it, since Kawi don't pay off anyone to boost their sales. And yes I saw that, pretty cool.

AFAM and K&N stickers added for more ponie power

One curve would probably do it.

Oh I don't know about that. My trusty "Scud" (01 ZX-9) and I put one over on the hord of GSXR 1000s during the Open Production race this past weekend.

Doesn't surprise me.

Honda is so concerned with emissions and noise that they are all but choking their engines to death. Put some aftermarket stuff on BOTH bikes to open up the engines and we shall see which one comes out on top.
In stock condition, I think Kaw's are just more open engines but the Honda's have more potential. Not trying to be biased here.

Here is my $.02. The kawasaki's might have a little more power, but thats about it. When is Kawi going to get with the program? I know they dont have as much funding as say powerhouse Honda, but their stuff (save the ZX12-R) is kind of outdated. Dont get me wrong, they build quality bikes that are great for the all around rider/trackday once a year person...

But we are talking performance right? The Zx line strikes me as a sport "touring" line. You dont believe me all you have to do is sit on a 6R or 9R. They are very comfortable but dont really strike me as "track ready." The 954 is totally different. Everything about it says race.. Refined, lightweight, stylish, and very powerful. I'm sorry I forgot the GP Bike ZX7R. Just a little old?? Very stable bike but that is because its built like a sherman tank. A freakin lead sled. A GSXR-600 could most likely dust one off. (I also know Eric B. won the 600cc Supersport title this year on a 6R, however Eric is DA MAN and I doubt his factory Kawi resembled a stock 6R in too many ways)

OK, I'm not hating on Kawasaki. I'm stating the reasons why I switched. Dont mean to offend anyone out there, but I'm basically saying what magazine editors around the USA have been saying for the past couple of years.
