2002 Ducati 998R

No-one could really accuse the 916/996 range of Ducati as being ugly. Well, the new bike has (in my opinion) become even nicer.
Some of the improvements are: Testastretta engine (998,998S & 998R), new frame from this years 996R, no side vents in the fairing with a slightly wider fairing and power now at 139 bhp.
All I need now is a younger body to go with one !!

Doesn't look much different to me. Ducati is still afraid of change. I like the colored mirror casings.

You know damn well how different the new engine is! It should basically fix everything that was wrong with the old one. I am waiting for it to hit the 748. I just don't need the whole 996.

BTW did you check out the badass new revision to the aircooled motor that's coming. Should be a torque monster.

There are some things nobody needs in this world, and a bright red, hunchback, warp-speed 900cc café racer is one of them -- but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one. That is why they are dangerous.

The new engine is a good one but still going to be way down on hp compared to the competition.

The air cooled engines don't really concern me. Hell, even Harley has a liquid cooled engine now.

Question

John, Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm getting the feeling that you're not really a Ducati lover !!

Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize we were discussing the racebikes.

Did someone say it sucked? I didn't.
