It had oval pistons, allowing 32 valves to operate, and was honda's trick to produce a 'v-8' while still retaining a v-4 configuration.

The 'spam' joke came about because the oval pistons looked like the old spam containers......

Now then .... why did they call the canned ham .. spam ??
