Will 750's (GP clones) be the 'next big thing' .. ??
SBK Superbikes look set to go toward a 1000cc limit for 4's and 1200 for twins ... to ensure the continual domination of ducati debatibly ...
And with the recent release of production bikes with on the fly changable fuel maps, suspension, gp copying fully digital dashboards, downloadable riding data .... all while further improving the ridability of the machine ... the trend would seem we will have production bikes than assist the 'average' rider further and further toward obtaining that perfect lap ...while removing the rider further and further from the equation ..??
We are also seeing an unprecidented release of exclusive bikes with prices completely off the map ... witness the desmodedadee, MV 312 vroom vroom at 70,000 plus english notes !! ...
So then, it would seem there is a market for crazy priced machines, and for racers on the road ... but will we continue to want bikes that make the riding easier ....or will the recent trend of owner moving to smaller machines for more involvement open up new options ??
Is there a market for the return of the harder edged, exclusive (read: expensive) machine like the RC30, OW01, R7,916SP, where perfomance is available in spades, but the owner will need to up his game considerably to exploit it .... ??
Oh .. and if you have got this far reading the bollox above .. consider this ... how DID the 750cc superbike era evolve, when most of the popular 'sport' bikes at the time were 1000's ?? Was is simply a reflection of the new superbike race rules ??
