For Honda, the objective was obvious: to increase the performances of its CBR 1000 RR without increasing the cubic capacity and limiting the weight in order to arrive to sharper accelerations and a dynamic behavior... To put in perspective the debate, let us specify that the model 2005 "is worth" already 172 CH for 179 kg dry. It is thus obvious that this work aims before all the Superbike championship, where the manufacturer currently appears in second position with Chris Vermeulen and the TEAM Ten Kate (moreover already champion of the world in Supersport with the not less talented French pilot Sebastien Charpentier on CBR 600 RR). In short, it is far from now on time from more "general-purpose" the 900 CBR. Because if its replacing comprises also all the attributes necessary to its homologation on road and frees from now on antipollution standard Euro-3, this Fireblade is announced like most frightening of the motor bikes of race marketed by the mark. A true animal thus, especially not to put between all the hands. It is explained you why.

In detail, the technicians house initially attempted to renovate its line and to improve its aerodynamic performances. Thus, the part before and the sides of careenage were redrawn, offering tended lines which still reinforce its family ties with the machine of MotoGP. In detail, one notes a more marked cutting of the part before careenage, associated two new optics "Slimline". The sides offer as for them rounder and compact lines, their new lower openings more effectively evacuating the hot air rejected by the radiator, thus improving comfort of piloting. This version 2006 is available in colour Noir Graphite, Rouge Winning Red, Argent Iron Nail. For its part, the part cycles of Fireblade profits from final improvements aiming at improving the agility of the CBR, currently its point the weak vis-a-vis with ZX-10R, more compact (in version "road"). Initially, whereas the reversed fork entirely adjustable remainder unchanged, the castor angle was tiny room of a quarter of degree, passing from 23°45 ' with 23°30 ' with, for consequence, a reduction of the hunting from 102 to 100 Misters Ensuite, to answer the change of final reduction, the length of the oscillating arm was reduced 5 mm, passing 599 mm with 584 Misters These evolutions involve a reduction by 10 mm of the footing with 1 400 mm (against 1 410 mm before), with with the key more weight on before and thus a sharper behavior, that it us in hands.

After packing, the heart of Fireblade... Optimized side behavior, it thus remained to be still progressed in power and approval of piloting. To this end, the conduits of admission of the cylinder head saw their optimized form while the conduits of exhaust were increased to accelerate the extraction of gases. The new shape of the combustion chambers allows in particular a light increase in the volumetric report/ratio of 11,9 to 1 to 12,2 to 1. The CBR promises a better combustion. In addition, of new doubles springs make safe the return of the inlet valves to high mode... Tested one suspects it on the machines of race of the HRC, this assembly allows to push the maximum mode of 11 650 to 12 200 tr/min, with there still with the key more power and of lengthening-piece. Another modification adding to the longevity of the extreme engine of use, the crankshaft from now on is carried out in a more resistant steel alloy without showing itself heavier. The camshafts were also touched by this weight saving campaign, with a reduced thickness which takes part in the 450 grams gained on the whole of the distribution. With final, the manufacturer announces a profit of power of 3,4 % on all the beach of mode, that is to say a maximum of 177,8 CH if one takes in reference the model 2005 (and by holding account of the air inlet forced)... 75 % of this profit being to put in the active of the new cylinder head. In all logic, the poids/puissance report/ratio increases by 3,3 %, and passes now below 1 kilogramme by horse...
178 CH for less than 14 000 €
As much to say that the CBR becomes a ball whose trajectory could become difficult to control... This why, its system of injection was reprogrammed in order to regularize as much as possible the arrival of the power. It is already a work undertaken on MotoGP, it thus does not have there nothing abnormal so that the CBR profits from it, quite to the contrary, in order to allow the pilot to minimize slip them and thus the wastes of time at exit of turn in particular. In same time, the black box is reduced of 100 grams, just like the lid of magnesium alternator. Fireblade is also equipped with a crown of larger secondary transmission (from 40 to 42 teeth). In other words, this shortened reduction enables him to accelerate even more freely without losing of dash speed thanks to the increase in the maximum mode. Lastly, the aft wheel is equipped with a new set of shock absorbers of couple which absorb the jolts more effectively. If one adds to it the new radiator, more effective and light, doubled from now on impossible to circumvent antipollution system HECS3 with probe with oxygen and catalytic cartridge, here which definitively reserves this monument of technology to the most qualified mechanics. As for its level of performances in dynamics, it will be necessary to spend a little less than 14 000 € and to wait until January 2006 to have the privilege to appreciate it. In France, obviously, its power will be brought back to 106 CH.
Other evolutions of Honda CBR 1000 RR Fireblade 2006:
- diameter of the discs of brake before increased by 310 to 320 mm, thickness brought back from 5 to 4,5 mm, with a profit of 300 gr. and more power with the key
