Thumbs up $500 back?

Well well....

As many of you will recall, I got caught by the rozzers for havin the Termis fitted on me bike... and was relieved of $500

So, narked as I was, I wrote to complain..

As if by magic, I rec'd a letter on Saturday morn from the self appointed gods of alterations, the LTA.

I won't bore you with the contents, but here's the gist of it...

"Dear Mr Chumley,

You are indeed correct in stating that the Termignoni exhaust you had fitted to your bike comes standard on the 996SPS. But you don't have an SPS do you. You have a BIP. So it's still illegal. But as we are nice blokes, we will refund the $500 fine anyway"

top result mate!!!

SO it;s beers on you then

What the letter should have said was

Dear Mr C.
You are indeed right! the bla bla has termi's but yours doesn't!
However as you are a Jonny Foreigner and we've been sued before and are shit scared of having to stand up in court and justify a minor difference in models as the reason for a 500 buck fine. We're backin out pronto.
Regards
PS We wont tell anybody if you dont!!

Whatever! good result Chum and pretty unique I'd say.

good news chum old boy,
of course, if you lived over here you wouldn't have had that trouble anyway!! the law can't realy say anything about exhausts when they let a family of 5 sharing 1 helmet ride around on honda 90's!!!

on a similar track, my ins company rang last week to tell me that an assesor has been to check out the TL and they will be processing the claim. i told them i crashed on the track but it was during an open track day, they checked with sepang and looks like they've agreed to pay out. unfortunatly my mechanic bloke reports that i snaped the frame in my little off so i guess they'll right the poor thing off.
i hope to be hobbling about without the chair in 6 days, so maybe see you all at the next round
