MotoGP riders stand out at Madrid Supermotard
MotoGP stars Max Biaggi, Loris Capirossi and Sete Gibernau came face to face in a special Supermotard event in Madrid last weekend, where several other Grand Prix riders, including 125cc World Champion Arnaud Vincent, also competed. For Vincent it was his first appearance on a KTM, with the Frenchman set to defend his number one plate riding the Austrian machinery next season.
Vincent was in impressive form, winning the GP and off-road category from fellow 125 rider Daniel Pedrosa. David Checa was third, whilst the highest other GP rider was Fonsi Nieto back in seventh place ahead of Capirossi.
Sete Gibernau sprung one of the major surprises of the event, held in front of no fewer than 8,000 fans. The Spaniard had been knocked out in the semi-final of the GP/off-road category but accepted an invitation to compete against Supermotard specialists in their own final, going on to win the race ahead of the likes of Boris Chambon, Jurgen Kunzel and Gilles Salvador.
Is it weird in here, or is it just me?
