help with 1998 speed triple

Hi,

Im thinking of purchasing a 1998 speed triple 955cc, with 18k miles on it. It looks in great condition but I dont know what to look out for on these bikes. Could anyone help me and tell me what things to watch for that Triumphs, especially this model is notorious for? I like to work on my own bikes as well, so do these need special tools and special maintenance of any kind?

Thank you very much!

maintenance intervals

Hey guys..

How about maintenance intervals, since I dont have a manual to reference... What should have been done before this 18k mark and what is coming up??

Cheers!

valves at 12k,also you should make sure it has the latest map downloaded.Fuel coupler may be under recall if it has not been replaced yet.you really don't need anything extra ordinary as far as tools.make sure the throttle has been synced on that year also it keeps the power delivery smoooth.use a full or semi synth oil (triumph requires this) 10w40or 15w 50 are fine.reccomended oil change is 6k miles

Are you sure it's a 98 Speed Triple 955cc? My 98 Speed Triple is 885cc.
