Did the previous owner change the lock on the tank, because it should be the same key as the ignition. The helmet lock, seat lock, tank lock, and ignition should all be the same key. Atleast that is how it is on my bike. The only help I have on restoring it is a link to a website and a parts bike. The parts bike link is in the classics forum. I gave it to another guy with an fzr1000. It should still be the first thread. For info on anything fzr www.fzrarchives.com is a great site. Good luck on the restoration and be careful with that awesome bike.
