stock spark plugs or not?

I'm once again replacing my plugs (man the miles just seem to add up quick) on my 2000 R6 & was wondering if anyone has tried spark plugs other than the stock type. Currently I have the NGK (with a R under it) CR9EK which are the type that have two arms arching towards the center post. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve.

I was told that Yamaha was being real stern on using the NGK-R's. Something to do with the temperature effect gine by the two lead plugs.

I am not real sure how true this is but I would stick with stock. The manufacturer put the years of research into the bike, they must know what is best for it.

Thanks Vypir,

I think you're right. All the other plugs I looked @ are your basic plug & my dealer basically said the same thing. In fact they don't carry anything but the stock plug. @ $35.00+ for the set I'm sure hoping their the best there is.
Thanks again.
