Question

Wondering if anyone has had any success in finding such items as solo seat cowls, rear huggers, etc. for the RF. Can't seem to locate anything on the Web, nor in the cataogues.

cheers!

Unhappy

I used to have an RF900, and I was always disappointed in the overall lack of aftermarket goodies available for it.

Supposedly, Lockhart offered a carbon rear hugger for it, but it was on terminal backorder (typical of them!), and I finally gave up on it after about a year.

I've never seen a seat cowl for it. Maybe a Sargent upholstery job could do it, with the rear portion raised, for a simulated cowl look?

By the way, do you have an exhaust on yours? I've got a Micron carbon bolt-on can for it, about 95% new condition, and no scratches. I'd sell it to you for $100 if you're interested. If so, e-mail me...

Thumbs up

Thanks for the offer, AZ Scott, but I already have a pipe for it. Got the Yoshy RS2 black slip-on. Also have the Targa smoke shield.

I have the dark, dark, dark green plastics that look black under the right lighting conditions, and have noticed there are next to no aftermarket options for that colour scheme. Anything I have seen has been for the red/silver.

I too have been disappointed by the lack of aftermarket stuff on offer, but since pretty much every bike magazine article I've ever read on the bike called it one of the most overlooked bad-arse bikes on the market, I can understand why (buy anything you want for the GSX-R).

The custom seat idea is an intriguing one. I'll take a look into it and see how it goes.

Thanks, lads.

cheers!
