gixxer 750 1st service $250 wtf???

Hi all,

I'm about to hit the 1st service mark on my 05' 750 and i called the dealre to see what the first service on it cost. I was quoted $250.

What the hell do they have to do besides change the oil, and check the slack on the chain and throttle and clutch levers? It just seems alot. I remember a couple years back getting a full tune up on my RR only cost 200 and they ahd to mess around with the carbs because it had just bennn jetted.

Is this a normal price and should i just do this myself or is it important for the dealership to take a look at it at the 1st service?

thanks

First service prices are ussually higher.

However, you are right, there is nothing special done. Oil change, visual inspection, adjusting the chain slack. Done.
