mode select switch, where to buy one? help on diagnosis?

Ok, so I bought a roughed up 2001 gsxr600 with 22k & it needs a little tlc. I downloaded the manual and read about the diagnostic tool " mode selector switch" to help narrow down any falty electrical sensors. im wondering where i can get one for a decent price? I'm getting an rpm when held at 2000 likes to go up to 2500 then back down again... kinda fluttering. the faster ya go the less you notice the fluttering. when I punch it it is slugish, but when I punch it hard then slowly back off it starts to pull. It always likes to pull harder when you are backing off from a full throttle no matter how fast. I have to be at 4000 to pull away from a stop. any ideas?

how can something get in your way if you don't know where you are going?

Do a search on SVrider.com. You can put it into diagnostic mode by jumpering two wires. The details are posted there.
