ive done the research for the 99 600 to the newer tail conversion that you are wanting ake on and found little information. i have purchased all the parts i need to try it myself which is the new subframe, tail section and seat. im going to try it myself and i figured if i got all the pieces next to my bike and it didnt look like i could make it work, then i would just put the parts back on ebay.on thing that needs to be considered, especially since yours is a vtwin with 2 cans, youll have to figure out some way to mount them both. good luck and if you tackle the project send me some pics. people told me it couldnt/hasnt been done so i figured it was all the more reason to do it!! the worst that could happen is you waste a little time and money

Thumbs down

The TLR tail section looks much better than the 1000.
If you have ever seen someone completely tucked in
on the TLR, the lines of the front screen and the tail
section mold the the rider almost perfectly.

Why would you want to replace it.....weight?

Simple formula:
Sharkskinz GSXR tail+hacksaw (for excess subframe)+JC Whitney LED liscence plate frame (for brakelight).
Formula becomes more complex if you insist on having passenger accomodations...

Suck mean people!
