petcock position

I have bought a 1995 Honda CB1000. I have been trying to restore this bike as a second bike. When I bought it, the guy had removed the cable assembly from petcock cause he said it was broken. I have the back piece that goes behind the left side cover, and I am having issues getting the pieces that attach to the tank. Anyway, the gut had painted the bike with rattle can black, covered all tags.....what is the positions for petcock labeled on side cover? I know there is a 12 oclock, 9 oclock and 6 oclock.... which one is ON, RESERVE, and OFF? Thanks, Steve
