Taner, I don't have any first hand experience with swingarm stands, but I know two riders, one with a '98 900RR, and one with '99 900RR, that both managed to drop their bikes off of the LP stands. I realize that there was probably user error involved (at least in the case of the '98), but that's enough info for me to steer clear of that stand.
As for the grab handle issue - I have a centerstand on my VFR, and when the grab handles are removed (when the solo cowl is on), I just place my right hand on the seat lock/left peg bracket. Furthemore, I do not have to lift at all; just left hand on left grip and right hand on bracket, both for stability, and with my right foot pressing on the stand, it pops right up. (Yeah, I'm 6'1", 205lbs, but the bike is over 500 lbs wet.)
I am not promoting the idea of adding a centerstand to your bike, just some mindless info. If I were going to keep my bike for a long time, I'd remove my centerstand for the aforementioned reasons, and get swingarm stand.
