One think I do know is it's not the exhaust valve, the F4 does not have the HVIX system like the 929RR has.
I notice a rattle when I get past 10,000 also, but it sounds normal to me, it doesn't sound like anything out of the ordinary.

i believe that the rattling sound that you mention at higher rpm's is from the key, which vibrates in the key hole.
some people have gotten rid of the sound by shooting some WD-40 into the key-hole.
i havent heard the rattle as such on my bike. anyone know of any problems arising from spraying WD-40 down the key hole????
as far as the ticking noises are concerned. some F4's have had those problems. result of over-tightening of the cams and you should definitely take it to the dealer while the bike is still under warranty.
