How much to offer for 05' 600RR

So I'm getting ready to buy my first new bike....first bike. Please lets try to stay away from how I shouldn't get a true sportbike for my first ride. I've thought about it and know the risks and dangers. I really just don't know what kind of a number I should shoot the dealler for a new bike. Sticker is $8,599 I'm think about shooting him 7,599 and going from thier. Does that sound reasonable for am I aiming alittle low? Thanks.

Think of it this way, either way, the worst the dealer can do is turn the offer down. I say start low, I doubt you'll get it for that, but you never know. If you end up paying more than you want, try to get some gear thrown in for free.

Ok, Thanks very much! Thats a good idea since I need some gear...also might see if they will lower the bike alittle for me with no cost since I would like alittle more bend in my legs when my feet are on the ground. Thanks again

Still for a new rider you are going way over your head & will be sorry at such a mistake.

Have you not read some of the back pages on what newbies should be getting & once they do so many realize their thoughts to a 600cc sportbike would have been way beyond their ability to learn on?

Remember all the others on the road are crazy & out to kill you.

Thanks for the concern, I'm well aware that its not the best bike to start on however I also know my own limitations and by no means consider myself to be superman. I'm not going to start this discussion I've read endless threads about the "killer 600s" but I do know myself better than you and I'm confident its not going to be a problem. I'm not in denial, I do expect to drop it, but I what I will not do is put myself in a situation when I can become seriously injured. Bottem line is really that it really doesn't matter whan I say you are going to think what you want to and I'm going to think what I want.

Where you at? There's one here that I think is an 05...yellow/black for $7300. They sell mostly atvs and want to get rid of it for invoice...they say.
