Unhappy cbr f3 starting problem...

Hi everyone,
I recently bought a '96 cbr f3, last week i was going for a ride and it just stalled and wont start anymore... the guy at the nearest shop told me my battery was dead so he installed a new one for 50$... this morning kind of same problem happened, the bike just stalled and wont start except if I hold the throttle above the idle, when it drops to idle, the bike just dies... plz help

What does it idle at? Did you look in the fuel tank? Is the filter dirty? Does the pump work? Is the tank full of rust?

Angry Been there done that!

Sorry to say that more than likely it's your fuel pump. I went through 3 last year when i still had my 97' F3. Honda know's it's a problem but they keep producing the same shiatty fuel pump, some worked for years and in my case only months. And at a cost of around $120, it can get expensive fast. Mine did almost the same thing, it will run with the throttle open until you let off of it then it shuts off. Runs very similar to the way it does if it's running out of gas.(Done that too) They are easy to swap, it's only held in by one big rubber band, and one plug. Anyways JM2C and I hope this isn't your problem but I went through 4 in 3 years so.....Good Luck
