Best upgrade from my xt225?

I totally love the new ninja 250 look from 2008 and up but I dont think it would be a reasonable upgrade from my 225 i have been doing alot of research and i saw the ninja 500 seems like the best bet but im not fond of its older style appearance is there any bike that i am not familiar with or maybe havent seen i didnt like the insurance rats at $550 on a yamaha r6 so i kinda want somethin a little smaller or not a racing bike but with that look or is there mods to make a ninja 500 like that or what would be a good second option? thanks in advance

Check out the SV650S, FZ6R, or other 650s. They are sporty looking, lower insurance since they're not supersport, and have become favorites among some racers, so you know they can go.

No way of knowing, insurance varies HIGHLY.

I think the sv650 wouldn't be a bad bike I guess it would last longer than say a ninja 500 cause id rather have something that I keep a while but I don't want it to be to big that I have to baby it so I don't wreck but I've clearly out grown my xt225 so a ninja 250 would be a useless step id think out of the 500 and the 650 what would be the notable differences?

500s are really popular with the younger crowd, for mileage reasons I think. The 650s have a much wider aftermarket and more power at the expense of gas.
