Anybody know right off how many friction plates there are in the 98-99 model 9R?

I've seen the sportbike article before. I had seen that info on the computer at the parts counter but figured that it was Kawasaki "secret squirrel" stuff that I could't get. Awesome. Now I can pick out the parts I need without wondering if the squid behind the counter is giving me everything I need.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Now part two. I bought new friction plates yesterday. The guy gave me 9 carbon fiber plates and 1 kevlar. He said the kevlar goes on last. I think he only had 9 plates and threw in the kevlar one to make the sale. I've got an email into Barnett asking what's the difference/compatability. Any info on this?

The odd ball turns out to be the "drive" plate. It goes on last and they have not been able to make a CF "drive" plate yet. It is apparently common on Yamaha bikes. Now we know. Thanks again.
