So this is the Kawi forum, hmmm...

no really, i have an '89 ninja600R that is a piece-o-crap. before everyone jumps i know a lot of these bikes in that year were great machines and i know a lot of them were lemons too.

but my problem is:
were the shift rod goes into the bottom end, there is a "sleave" which is part of the lower end of the engine. it is broken off. if anyone has heard of this do they know how easy it is to fix? somepeople told me i could just get it welded back on for like$200 is this true???

This piece is aluminum ? If it is you need a special welder $$$$ To rent, But if it's not any ol mig/arc welder will do...Take it to a shop I had my seat welded in my car for 25$

Hey Mel,

If the ninja is a piece of shit, I'll buy it off you ? Cheap !?

Here's one for you...

I have to replace the fork seals on my bike is there anything specific (like concerning the ESCS ??) Or is this strait forward ??

Whats really weird is both sides just went south ?? This is not normal ...
Could the ESCS unit be the culprit ??

Hey Mike,

What weight oil do I put in ?
If I wanted to ditch the ESCS, What would I have to do to the forks, or would I install forks off another bike ?

Hmm.. 600R, eh?

Id say you need to upgrade your forks with ones off a more capable bike..

I can get you a pair of YSR50 forks for cheap.

hey squid,
are you really interested??
i've been trying to sell it. not real hard but i want like $750 for it. it has all the farings, headlight, taillight, frame, front forks, clutch, two rims, 14 tooth spocket(brand new), and from what people down here have said it may even be fixable for $150-300. it also has a burnt old engine with lots of spare parts.
