Spedo needle bouncing

Hey,

I had my dash apart the other day to put in some new horns. I noticed the spedo cable was hanging so I took the gauge cluster off and tightened it back up. Now occasionly while I'm riding along my spedo needle tends to bounce between 5-10mph range of what I'm going...

any ideas

Three possibilities - Maybe you didn't properly seat the cable when you tightened it up. Best to do that with the front wheel off the ground so you can turn the wheel until the cable seats before tightening it completely up.

Or your cable is on the verge of failure & will have to be replaced.

Or the cable isn't properly routed.

Hopefully it's number one , but my money is on number two.

Replace with a well-lubed new one at your earliest convenience. You don't want a lot of water to be running down into that gear drive......
